PCW Windows and Doors Give a WOW factor to a Traditional London Home

Operations Director Shahab and his wife Sara, who is about to exhibit her works in a nearby art gallery, chose PCW to install new windows and doors to their newly acquired home in North London.

“We had a major project when we purchased the house. It was an old house so we had to renovate and none of the windows were double glazed.” said Sara. “My husband knew their office, so he visited to look at their products. He was impressed with the quality.” “I like supporting local businesses – they’re next door to me, they’re independent” said Shahab. “From the initial contact, Ania looked after us and was always very helpful. There was some toing and froing with the designs and she made amendments for us in a quick and efficient manner.”

Highly thermally insulated folding sliding doors from the Schueco range were just what the couple was looking for. The 5 leaf double glazed door stack outwards very easily and can be moved to the right almost silently on roller carriers. They are securely guided at the top and at the bottom. Flush threshold makes them very practical – especially for Bruno, the magnificent Rhodesian Ridgeback, who loves to pop outside every now and then. The anthracite grey bifolds seamlessly connect the interior and exterior, allowing the natural light in and opening the back of the house into the garden. The amount of the natural light in the living room had now been doubled, thanks to the 3.2m x 1.4m large flat skylight placed centrally above the dining table. Together with the bifolds they’ve enhanced the space, flooded it with daylight creating perfect working conditions for artist Sara to paint.

We could have got much cheaper windows and doors, but we wanted quality. We really wanted feature doors in our living room, that’s why we decided to go with the excellent quality Schueco bifold doors.

Sara and Shahab’s semi-detached property features varied selection of Perfect Crystal Windows’ products. Back of the property had been enhanced not only by the feature modern and high performance bifolds in anthracite grey and a large skylight, but also the first floor windows, situated above the bifold doors had been replaced with high performing aluminium casement windows in matching grey powder coating.

The whole front and the side of the property has been fitted with matching doors and windows in a rosewood woodgrain finish. That decision made the whole property stand out in the neighbourhood which consists mainly of white casement bay windows. Double glazed energy efficient replacement uPVC casement windows received a woodgrain finish and were installed in bay configurations on both ground and the floor level. All of those front and side casement windows feature a Georgian bar design. Additionally, the side (hall) windows were fitted with satin glass that let the light inside the hallway, ensuring privacy at the same time. Sara and Shahab decided to install the full of character front door – so called ‘stable door’ – including sidelights, decorative glass panels and matching door accessories (dark trims and black door furniture). The traditionally looking but individual and bespoke design is fitted with a multipoint locking system. The frames and panels are also reinforced to ensure maximum security.

We are very happy with the quality of products, the options, colours and support we received throughout the ordering and design process. Production was on time. Every person we came into contact with was very nice and helpful. There were a few post installation issues, though Kasia was brilliant throughout and we finally got the fitter who made a point of not leaving until we were happy with everything.
